hi im a keen bass player and i am looking to get a decent bass amp cos im using an amp designed for 6 string guitar at the moment. im looking to spent between £80 and £100 on it and im looking for an amp thats about 100 watt. has anyone got any suggestions/ reccomendations for decent bass amps. thanks for any replies
I don't know how far you can stretch your budget, but my bassist has an Ampeg BA 115 and the thing is absolutely beautiful. Enough rumble to rock any venue, and costs just north of $300, so if you can add a bit more cash to the purchase, you'll be a lot happier than with some mediocre amp. Go to a music store and try several amps out for yourself. Don't trust online reviews, I am always disappointed by false promises of quality. Good luck!!!

I don't know that it's all that important which instrument you go with as an absolute beginner. Both of those violas sound suspect to me - Just about any viola would fit the descriptions above as long as it doesn't have a painted fingerboard.
I would suggest renting an instrument from a local shop at first, just to get the hang of it. Then at about the time when you can tell the difference between instruments by the sound, and you have a preference between them, then you might consider buying something.
If you feel strongly that you want to buy something, I would go with an place like Johnson Strings or Stringworks because they have good instruments for reasonable prices and good return/upgrade policies. They may even often rentals.

Violin Strings, anyone?
Okay well.. I was playing earlier this morning, and the D string broke.. It's about 5 months old.. I use "Prelude" "D'Addario" strings.. Medium tension.. My brother said it wasn't normal for a string to break after only five months.. I say it's normal.. Is it though? And should I switch to a different brand?
I didn't even tune the violin in like three days, I checked the tuning before I played (Of course) but it didn't need tuning, so yeah the string pretty much broke on its own out of the blues.. Normal or not normaaaaaaal?
And I wasn't rough on it I'm not new to this instrument xD, it just broke!
yes, violin strings sometimes break for no reason. That is why I do not use expensive strings anymore; sometimes they break after only two weeks.
I just use cheap strings($10 per set) and I try to make do with that. They don't sound all that great but I have heard professional violinists play on very cheap instruments with cheap strings and it sounded fantastic. You just have to be good enough to make them work.
Many will disagree with me on this and say we need all the help we can get because the violin is difficult. If you can afford good strings then buy them, but if not, then just make do with the cheap stuff. Then it won't matter when they break.
String Power How can I play power chords better? I have problems with getting the bottom string to come out clear.?
Well, yes I know what power chord is and everything, I can play the root note, it's just the bottom most string. Like if I was playing a G5, the 6th string on the 3rd fret is clear, the 5th string on the 5th fret is clear, but the 4th string on the 5th fret isn't. I tried pressing hard, but I can almost never get it right. Are there any techniques or exercises I can do?
Don't play the third note if you like it, but some think it's better sounding if you do...play just the note (G as you said it) on the third fret , ant it's fifth on the fret no.5 ant you've got a G5 power chord, it's not necesarry to play the note on the fourth string.

How do I fix a overheated engine Homelite gas power string trimmer? (Trimmer won't start at all)?
I was using the trimmer for about 30 minutes. I felt the engine was getting hotter. Then the trimmer stopped and won't start again. Please help me what do I need to do?
if you felt the engine was getting hotter than normal you might have not put enough 2cycle oil in the gas mix let it cool off pull the plug then pour small amount of 2 cycle oil in plug hole replace plug and give it a spin
Strings Hot Do you have to bob the teabag up and down when you make hot tea?
Im new to tea making, i was just curious if you just let it sit in the hot water for a couple minutes or if you have to bob it up and down.....also i bought this other brand and they dont have strings on them so i was using a spoon to bob the bag up and down but the bag broke...sorry dumb question but im trying to start doing green teas so was just wondering the right technique. thanks.
When making tea:
1) Brew your tea within the proper tempurature range. You can google what kind of tea you're making and find it's tempurature range. Green tea, for example, should be brewed around 120F.Brewing tea at a tempurature too high will scorch the leaves and cause a bitter, burnt flavor while brewing at a tempurature too low will not yield proper taste/strength.
2) Loose tea is better than bags
3) Bags should sit calmly for the appropriate amount of time - usually between two and four minutes. Do not bob, stir, or jostle them. Doing so can make your tea dark and bitter.
4) Tea bags should never be squeezed. Doing so can cause your tea to become cloudy and *will* make it bitter.
What does it mean when a guy acts hot and cold with you in regards to sex?
What does it mean when a guy acts like he wants sex from you but then when you are about to or are giving it to him, he shuts you out and acts distant? Why is he playing push and pull? I thought all guys wanted no strings attached sex!
Contrary to popular belief, guys aren't all assholes. He's probably having some emotional issues, of sorts.
(yeah, guys have emotions... shocking, I know.)
