Pro Lite Where can I find a codec pack similar to K-Lite for a new MacBook Pro?
Also, how do I check the storing capacity?
I'm pretty sure K-Lite works for both mac and PC. What do you need it for, is it for a torrented movie?
here as some alternatives: http://macupdate.com/info.php/id/22923/perian
This is the best option I can find and seems to be pretty good
I want to learn how to play jazz on guitar but I don't know how to start.
I know how to use scales and a little on chord formation but I don't know how to make it sound "jazzy". What bands should I listen to since I really don't know any jazz bands? I would appreciate any help from you guys.
Get music by all those people the first guy who answer you listed. Listen to all that music every day, and try to figure it the stuff that sounds easy to you on your guitar.
Go find a private teacher and start taking lessons, and practice every single day. Taking lessons will really help, if you live in a big city, you can probably even take classes in jazz theory and improvisation from somewhere.
How to Play Jazz Guitar : Walking Bass Chord Comping in Jazz Guitar
Looking for a beginner acoustic jazz guitar?
Hello,
I've been a huge fan of gypsy jazz guitar and was wanting to learn how to play. I want to know of a decent brand of jazz guitar to begin my journey. I also just purchased the "Learn To Play Django-Style Gypsy Jazz Guitar Volume 1" DVD. If anyone has other suggestions on instructional DVDs or books that would help out. Actually, any recommendations would be great. Thanks for our time.
Guitar Tuner Why does guitar tuner's light just blink when I turn it on?
I have fender guitar tuner AT-3 and lately when I turn it on, the green light on tune just blinks. When I play a cord it doesn't do anything, it just blinks. Does that mean it is not working? What can I do?
I have an acoustic guitar (a Cutaway Dreadnought) and a lot of troubles tuning it. I don't want to spend money on buying a guitar tuner, so please send me a link to the best online guitar tuner you know.
Thanks
First off, everyone on here who says you can't tune online is an idiot, it's called tuning by ear, and it's not impossible and in fact it's not hard at all. I tune by ear to an online tuner all the time and it works just fine, if not better than my electric tuner.
Go to google, type in "guitar tuner" and click on the first link I think. In fact I'll show you the link: http://www.gieson.com/Library/projects/utilities/tuner/
It's fast, it's cheap, it's easy. All you do is hit the note and then strum the appropriate string on your guitar, then move the tuning peg up or down until the note you hear being played is matched with the note your guitar is playing. Trust me you're ear will be able to hear when it's right. When you've tuned like this you can then tune your guitar to itself just in case. If you don't know how to do that it's easy as well.
Put your finger on the Low E string on the fifth fret. Strum that and then strum the Fifth string open. If they sound alike, they're in tune, if they don't then you need to adjust the FIFTH string. Do the same for all the other strings, except for the third string. On the third string you put your finger on the fourth fret, strum the third string on the fourth fret and the second string open and if they sound alike they're in tune.
Now, getting an electric tuner IS a good idea, but it's simply not necessary.
Electric Guitar Strings What are some good electric guitar strings?
I play metal and rock. Anything good for big bends harmonics and stuff like that. I have been playing awile but have only changed strings twice. So good gauges to, because i dont know wich to get. I play metal and rock.
I prefer D'Addario (so do a lot of top rock guitarists) and you should check your guitar manufacturer's recommendations about guages, but light or extra light is typical for playing lead (big bends, etc.).
what is the difference in the different types of electric guitar strings?
i need to replace the strings on my electric guitar and i'm not sure what type to get...thanks!
does the weight and material make a huge difference?
Lessee....
Steel vs Nickel. Steel strings are brighter, nickel strings (actually a nickel alloy) are warmer. Steel are a little harder on your frets. Nickel are rarer.
Roundwound vs Flatwound. Flatwounds are a little easier on the fingers, and also sound a little less "attackey". Flatwounds are relatively rare.
Coated vs Noncoated. Coated strings last longer, but some of the coatings can affect the sound of the string response. Coated strings are usually significantly more expensive than non-coated strings.
I like Elixirs... they're all I use. For me they last somewhere around 3 times longer than non-coated strings, and I like the way they sound. They're nickel and coated.... I assume roundwound.
