Rod Deluxe

Is there a tone difference in the Hot Rod Deluxe and the Hot Rod Deville?
I was just wondering if there is a difference as far as tone between the Deville and the Deluxe. They both have the same tubes (3 12AX7s and 2 6L6s) and theyre both under the "Hot Rod" series..so i was just wondering if they call the 40 watt a "Deluxe" but stuck a few more watts under the hood for those who need a little more punch and called it "Deville"?
Can anyone clear this up? Im thinking of purchasing the Deville
I have an early Tweed Deluxe
I feel the Deluxe has a little smoother sound,
the DeVille has a little stronger preamp, a little more gain
little more rocker
otherwise they are similar
since they both have 2x6L6 tubes, they are basically the same power
if you can, try them both, side by side, with YOUR guitar,
pick the right one for YOU

Bugera V55 vs. Fender Hot Rod Deluxe - Shoot-Out, TTK Style!!
is a FENDER HOT ROD DELUXE amplifier loud enough to gig with?
is a 40w FENDER HOT ROD DELUXE amplifier loud enough to gig with? -
I mean for smaller clubs, etc?
It's 40 watts tube which is waaaaaay louder than 40 watts solid state. If you really want to drive the sound though get an attentuator and plugin it in to the preamp out, and then the power amp in. Then turn the volume all the way up to drive the tubes more and control the volume level from the attentuator. Also the Hot Rod comes with an external cab jack, I run mine to a Marshall 1936 Lead 2x12, It's really, really loud that way. Hope this helps.
