Fender Nickel Can you get steel guitar frets put on?
I have a Fender Strat and a Fender Tele. I am also very allergic to nickel, so right off the bat, the strings I use bother my skin. The wierd thing is, I have the same strings on my tele and strat, but when I play the strat, it doesn't bother my skin, and when I play the tele, it bothers my skin a lot. Is there a chance the frets on the strat are steel and the frets on the tele are nickel?
It is very possible to get steel strings instead of nickel. Although it is possible it is going to change the way your guitar sounds a little. Nickel is a soft metal, and surprisingly enough it gives your guitar a softer, warmer sound. The stainless steel strings will give your guitar a brighter crisper sound compared to nickel frets. Guitar manufacturers will often switch between the two metals when doing frets on guitars. A model one year may have steel and the next year it may have nickel. Neither one is technically superior to the other when it comes to sound, just different, however, the steel frets will last longer than the nickel ones.
Depending on where you live you can expect to pay a guitar shop/luthier anywhere between 50 and a 100 bucks to redo the frets on a guitar. It is a delicate process, and if you can afford to pay a good luthier go for it, don't settle for one that doesn't have the experience to re-fret a guitar. If frets are not done correctly a the neck on a guitar can be ruined pretty quickly.
i'd be playing all types of music but mostly rock and metal

I don't think that is a real Fender. The guitar head is different from a normal Fender's. I would first check out this link I left for you. It has true Fender guitars. Then look at your link. I think it is a good deal for a guitar and amp but I also think it is a knockoff. It's up to you to take the gamble but I wouldn't buy a guitar with out holding it in my hands first.

If it is brand new it is worth exactly what you paid for it ie what the market will bear is it's worth.
My brother has one he had autographed by all of the Rolling Stones - I wonder what that is worth.
