Plated Electric Which hotplates on electric cookers are most efficient? Solid Plate? Spiral Plate?
I would like to buy electric cooker (MUST be electric) but first of all I wanna know: Which hotplate on electric cookers is most efficient? Solid Electric Plate? Spiral Electric Plate? I don't wanna ceramic one, because it is hard to clean and all the gas are excluded as well. Thanx for your answers
If you buy an electric hotplate, you are not buying an efficient devive, period.
However, the solid plates are more effective and more durable, and easier to keep clean. It may take a bit longer to heat up, but once it does, it transfers it's heat to the pot or pan much more efficiently.
Neither is particularly energy efficient, however.
Too bad you decided against gas ... it really is the best for a heat source.
Daddario Strings What grade of steel are stainless steel guitar strings manufactured from?
I'm doing a college project on vibrating guitar strings and their mode shapes/harmonics etc. I just need to know what steel grades are usually used for the strings, I'm dealing with a plain, uncoiled G string so no need to talk about string coilings. A general answer would be great, but if it helps here is the exact string I'm testing: http://store.daddario.com/category/152831/Plain_Steel_Singles
(Item # PL017). Thanks very much.
See http://www.guitar2ner.com/guitar-tips/guitar-strings-overview.php There is a reference to d'Addario magnetic stainless steel strings.
a string of my guitar snapped and it was a fender then i bought a new one but the brand was DAddario do i have to change all of my strings if one isnt of the same brand?
As you already know, you can definitely buy single strings. Tonal characteristics may vary a little between brands, but there's no other reason not to mix brands. Most music stores only carry one brand of individual replacement strings, so it's pretty much unavoidable. Try to make sure the string gauge is the same as the one you're replacing.
If your old strings have been on the guitar more than a couple of months, it's time to change the entire set. You'll notice a marked improvement in the brightness with new strings. Contrary to what you might hear, you won't damage your neck by removing the strings all at once. That's a total myth that gets spread by well meaning people who *think* they know what they're talking about. The best reason to replace the strings one-at-a-time is so that you'll have reference notes to re-tune to. Replace one, tune it back up: then replace the next, repeat. Once in a while, you may want to remove all the strings just to clean under them.
Powerlines Electric if i tightrope walk on the powerlines outside my bedroom window, will i get the "electric feel"?
No, i mean like the song.
Yes. Electricity will always take the path of least resistance and the human body offers less resistance than power cables do. Plus you also may be in legal trouble if the police or the power company see you up there. ( if you survive the experience.)

Helicopter Powerline Danger Awesome Amazing
Would it be a good idea to power electric trains the way the Finding Nemo ride is?
Would it be a good idea to power electric trains the way the Finding Nemo ride is? Instead of having unsightly and unreliable overhead powerlines (catenaries) and instead of having a dangerous their rail, couldn't an electric train receive the electricity wirelessly from something hidden between the tracks out of sight and out of reach? It seems to me that if electric trains are going to be built in cities at ground level an alternative would be used by now.
Any induction method like that wastes a lot of power, and the longer it is, the more power it wastes. That's ok for an amusement park, but not for a 1000 mile length of track.
