Bronze Ball Aircraft oil filters - any made of sintered bronze balls for filtering? What other substances used to filter?
I was reading a Popular Mechanix magazine from the 1960's, and a guy was claiming that the micro-welded bronze ball type of oil filter in airplanes of the day would allow an automobile engine to run 200k or more miles, that it filtered the tiny 2-4 micron-sized particles that kill most automobile engines. Any truth to that, and what type of filter material is used in aircraft engines now? Anyone tried to run an aircraft oil filter in an automobile?
You can "over filter" oil. This was a problem with the toilet roll filters of the seventies. These were only used in the automotive industry.
The filters used in large radial engines (Wright and P&W) were made up of series of disc shaped screens separated by corrugated spacers. These filters can be dismantled for cleaning.
The smaller engines fitted to bug smashers use a filter similar to those uesd in a car.
Gas turbine engines use gause type filters that can be cleaned and reused.
There is no reason why you couldnt use an aircraft filter in your car if you fabricate an adaptor to suit the car's engine.
Please help me out here, I'm not sure if its "Scale Rot" or a bad shed or something.
Sorry about the terrible quality, My phone is definitely not meant for taking pictures
I would suggest double checking all your husbandry for any issues. such as the correct temperature gradient, correct humidity, multiple hides, proper substrate, etc. Once you know everything is correct then I would wait a week and if it is the same or has gotten worse than take the snake to the vet. Likely you are making a mistake with the enclosure and fixing it will make the problem go away on its own.
check list:
heat: hot side-85/90 cold side-75
humidity: 50-60%
hide on hot and cold side.
proper ventilation
I find that eco-carpet from zoo med is the easiest to clean but if you have a substrate such as bark or sand than change it out completely and replace it with paper towels until the find the source of the problem.
clean the entire interior of the cage and all the furniture with a mild dish soap, rinse well.
also make sure the snake cannot make direct contact with its heat source.

Strings Bronze steel vs bronze acoustic guitar strings?
i currently have just steel guitar strings, not a fan they need replacing and i was wondering whats the difference between steel and bronze strings and or nickle strings?
Not all strings have a steel core. There are different substances used for the core on metal guitar strings (not even mentioning nylons), but the market is predominated by a steel core. The tonal properties of what steel strings are wound up by can make a great difference to the overall sound of an instrument. In general, nickel strings are bright but give off well-rounded frequencies and have properties that make them perfect for use with magnetic pickups, such as those used in electric guitars. Bronze-wound strings are a little mellower in timbre but give off more high-low (harmonically rich) frequencies and are favorites on acoustic steel-string guitars. Silk and steel-wound guitar strings are the mellowest sounding and give off more low-mid frequencies than the others. They are generally used for folky types of acoustic playing where little attack is needed. There are others but I won't mention them because you won't find them easily. There are other factors and merits of each type of string like how long they last - Nickel resists corrosion the most; bronze less so; bare steel oxidizes very easily. There is also the way the string is wound to take into account (flat-wound, etc. like the other answerer mentioned).
