D Addario Guitar Strings Which company makes better electric guitar strings?
I really want to know which strings are better quality. I am currently playing 10-52 Ernie Ball strings on my Fender Tele Custom. Since I am a beginner, please tell me, are Ernie Ball Strings better or are D'Addario strings better?
By better I mean which strings are higher quality? Which ones last longer? Which ones sound better overall?
Put Jster down for a set of balls ( : Just kidding, you kinda walked into that one. Hard to beat Ernie Balls, the Slinky's will be the 10 gauge. I like EB's better than D'Addario but don't see a huge difference.
D Addario Guitar Strings D'Addario Pro Arte Clasical Guitar or Martin 80/20 bronze medium strings on an acoustic guitar?
I have two sets of strings and i need to restring my acoustic guitar but i dont know which ones would be best to use?
DO NOT PUT ACOUSTIC (steel) STRINGS ON A CLASSICAL GUITAR.
Classical guitars are not built to withstand the tension of steel strings. putting steel strings on a classical guitar can cause irreparable damage to the neck, where the neck joins the body and the heel.
Classical guitars have nylon strings. Yes 3 of them look like steel strings, but these are actually metal wrapped around a nylon core.
Acoustic guitars are metal strings. The wound strings on an acoustic have a metal string core.
Classical guitars tend to have a wider neck and are more for classical music, flamenco, finger picking, etc. The headstock (where the tuners are) of a classical guitar usually has 2 slots of wood cut out and the strings wind around plastic pegs. On Steel string acoustics it is usually a solid peice of wood and the strings wrap around metal pegs.
If you are still unsure, have a look here http://www.guitarbitz.com/acoustic_guitars.htm and you can see the difference between steel strung acoustics and classical guitars.
If it is a classical guitar, it will need the D'Addario Pro Arte classical strings http://www.guitarbitz.com/classical_guitar_strings.htm
If it is a steel strung acoustic guitar, it will need the Martin 80/20 acoustic strings http://www.guitarbitz.com/acoustic_guitar_strings.htm
D Addario Guitar Strings Phosphor bronze D’Addario strings for acoustic guitar?
Worth buying?
D'Addario is definitely among my favorites, though it depends on which guitar I'm playing. I tend to go with their EXP Phosphor Bronze (their coated string), as opposed to the EJ16s, which are uncoated. On two of my guitars, I like the D'Addario EXPs the most, but on another I prefer Elixir Nanowebs, and on another I like the Martin SP+. So, I guess I'd say, yes, the D'Addario Phosphor Bronze are absolutely worth buying, but I'd also recommend trying several different strings to see which works best for you.
Addario Half My High E String Keeps Snapping, Any Suggestions???
I've been playing guitar for more than three years and in the last couple of months, my high-e string has started snapping. I used to use D'addario strings, but four of those snapped on me in 5 weeks. Then a dude at my local Guitar Center suggested I use the DR Dimebags. But last night again it snapped on me. Any Suggestions?
P.S. I use standard, Half Step down(E Flat), Whole Step Down(D), Drop D, Drop D Flat, Drop C, and Drop B. Thanks for all of your help(assuming you give some)
I should also add that it's an electric guitar, eliminating the use of nylon strings. Thanks anyway!
well, if it's snapping at the bridge than you need a thicker string, if it's snapping at the nut that you should get the nut filed down a little. if it snaps in the middle that i don't know
