American Strat Replacing a Jagmaster tremolo bridge with a American Strat Tremolo Bridge.?
For Christmas, I asked for a American Strat Tremolo Bridge, hoping to install it on my Squier Jagmaster. Like most Jagmasters, it has a Mexican-style Strat Tremolo Bridge. Is it possible to install a American Strat Tremolo onto a Jagmaster?
Hello! Although I cannot say for certain, most likely it will fit. The problems you may have are the fact that most Squiers have a slightly different string spacing (narrower) than the American Stratocasters, and the scale length (Jagmaster 24", Stratocaster 25.5") may be too different to allow for correct intonation. Sorry, wish I could have helped more. Best regards, Dana
Fender American Standard Stratocaster and Telecaster
Of Fender Guitars what do you think is better a Mexican Strat, The American Strat, orJapaneese Strat?
I own a mexican and an american i want your opinions.
These days with assembly line construction (which all 3 countries did) i don't think it matters much , do you? i mean , unless you order something from the Fender Custom shop which pays a bit more attention to every single axe , the factory jobs are just all banged out in cookie cutter fashion.
I love my ovation balladder, (from 1976) but Iabsolutely hate acoustic strings, what I like I use on my electric guitar (ernie ball .09-.42) is it OK to use these strings on the Ovation? will the pickup work with these strings, being an ovation I would think it should be loud enough acoustically, is that right? any other info if you can think of it
Yes, Garlik luvr, you can use your favorite electric strings on an acoustic, I was out of strings one time, and only had electric strings, so I used them, and I liked them, they are not as rigid as acoustic, and I can switch back and forth from acoustic to electric without noticing the change, basically the only difference is the electric strings are magnetized and the acoustics are not !!

Classical Guitar Strings Can I restring my classical guitar with acoustic strings?
Would I spoil the guitar?
And if I were to get a new guitar, which one would be better? Acoustic or classical? I mainly just want to play songs.
>>Can I restring my classical guitar with acoustic strings<<
If by "acoustic strings" you mean steel strings, then the answer is emphatically NO. Classical guitars are lightly braced because nylon strings do not exert the tension of steel strings. If you mistakenly put steel strings on a classical guitar you will quickly destroy the guitar by warping the top, ripping off the bridge, or most likely both.
A classical guitar *is* an acoustic guitar. You don't plug it in, after all. You were presumably referring to a steel string flattop acoustic guitar. Most people find them much more versatile than a classical guitar.
