Elixir Light Medium Will heavy strings make that much of a difference.?
I prefer how the heavier E-A-D strings feel, but would keep the G-B-e Strings as Medium. (For those of you paying attention that's 10-13-17-30-42-52. Light top/ heavy Bottom.) Now I would this make the lower strings too dark sounding? I DO NOT want to sound like death metal.
Also, I would have to switch from elixir strings to d'addario or some other brand. Are d'addario's as long lasting or as good quality as elixirs, and if not, what other brand is good? (Elixirs wont work because my Guitar Center doesnt have heavy ones.)
we spoke about this remember? your question ruffly 4 or 5 hours ago.
the heavier the strings the deeper and lower the tone the lighter much more tinny than the heavy gauge strings, "Dark"? that depends on your rig and effects not sure what you mean, take a look at your last question what i put there
Guitar string recommendations for a Fender CD-60??
I have a Fender Cd60 acoustic but one of my strings broke recently, so im just going to replace the factory strings it came with and get some new ones....
Ive heard that D'Addarios, specifically Phosphor-Bronze, and Elixirs are favorites, but I have no experience with either. Any recommendations as to the brand or type I could try...as well as whether light or medium strings would be best? ( For music like Jack Johnson, Dispatch, Jason Mraz, Beatles sort of thing)
I always broke my strings when i had elixers. sao i traded to D'ADDAARIOS and havent broke a strinng in,... a good year. and for your type of music it'd really help if we knew how expierienced you are. if your good at your favorite bands then attempt medium. medium are a little harder to play but for me sound better if your just ok at it or dont want to take the risk of wasting money then get light they normally work for EVERYone.
Medium Plus Why won't my itunes plus songs get onto windows media player 12?
They should be on windows media because itunes plus is drm free.
Itunes put in a special "something" into their music file, so that you won't be able to find/transfer. Itunes is smart like that... They don't want to get ripped off and people sharing music that one person bought....
Can anyone plz tell me where I can get a key to activate microsoft plus digital media edition?
It's illegal to get a key to activate a program if you haven't bought it or haven't got an invitation to test it, but anyway you can search for a serial/crack at http://www.mscracks.com . BTW, that site has some pornogrophie, so use firefox to block the pictures.
Sets Banjo Honda CD250 Front hydraulic brake problem?
A while ago I sheered the bleed nipple of the callipars so at the advice of my local bike shop drilled out the old nipple welded the hole and replaced the banjo bolt with a combination bolt come bleed nipple. The problem is the front brake remains spongy I've bled them time and time again and am certain there is no air in the system. Could it be that because the bleed nipple is directly within the banjo that the brake resovoir is not fully being filled with brake fluid I've tried bleeding in different positions like as vertical as I can get it the brake works fine but is to spongy to pass an MOT whats my next move am I looking at aving to buy a new set of callipars
You obviously had to drill out the bleeder. You shouldn't have welded it. You should have tapped it out to a larger thread or installed a thread insert. The bleeder is located in the highest area of the caliper. For a reason. That's where air will go. In your case it can't get out. Your next move should be to exercise some common sense. Think of the safety factor.
Childs Picnic Table Plans - Why These Plans Saved My Life
Have you ever found yourself wondering where did my holidays go and more importantly why haven't I finished any of the DIY projects that I planned to do over the holiday period? This summer just gone I had promised my family to plan and build a childs picnic table.
The good news is:
I had already brought a great set of childs picnic table plans so I could simply follow them.
The bad news is:
I am the opposite of a 'handyman' - Building a Lego castle is at the top of my DIY resume.
Spending time with my family is my number one favourite thing in the world. I knew that if I was able to build a picnic table for my 2 little girls that it would create a great place for us to spend some quality time. As an added bonus the table will get my girls outside and away from the television. The only thing left to do was put the kids picnic table plans into action. Ok I'll admit it, I was scared - I didn't want to mess this simple job up and show my lovely girls that their dad is no good at building.
Finally we entered the last few days of the holidays and I still hadn't even picked up the kids picnic table plans.
"Ok - lets bite the bullet, get out my dusty tool box and get started"
First step was to check the picnic table plans for all of the materials that I would need. Then off to the hardware store to pick them up. My first reaction was "could Ithis project really be this cheap?" It seemed like such a bargain that I almost thought something was wrong. Only one way to tell - Pass me my hammer it's time to get building.
After buying the materials and picking the girls up from basketball I was left with a day and a half of my holidays left to complete this project. To my surprise the whole process was pretty simple. The plans I had brought earlier basically told me exactly what to do, the one thing they forgot to mention was that when you miss the nail and hit your finger with your hammer it really hurts.
The picnic table was finished at 3pm on the Sunday afternoon. Just in time for an outside dinner. When the kids saw my handy work they couldn't believe their eyes. They even started calling me Bob (as in Bob the builder). Whilst that might have been going a little too far I was very proud of my accomplishment. If you want to get your kids outside and give them a great play area then you might want to think about building your own child's picnic table. If I can do it then you can too.

I was just tuning my guitar using harmonics and the D string snapped. I have no idea how to replace it, but I do have a pack of replacement strings. Can anyone please tell me how to replace it? Thanks! And I will choose a best answer if you're wondering.
First, turn the machinehead of the string you wish to replace until it slackens. Then, use the wire cutters on a pair of pliers to cut the string, which can then be unwound from the machine head and discarded. You will then need to take the new string, checking the label to ensure that you are using the right gauge, and place the ball of the string through the wooden machinehead of an acoustic guitar, or through a hole in an electric (usually found on the bridge). You can then pull the string taut along the bridge of the guitar and up to the machine head, cutting any excess length, before carefully winding around the machinehead. A string winding device can be used to make the stringer tighter. Tension should be maintained on the string to prevent it from slackening, but not to an excessive degree, as this may cause the string to snap. A new string will take some time to settle and due to still being easily stretched after being placed on the guitar, will go out of tune regularly for a few days until it stabilizes.
My guitar strings vibrate on the frets when I press the string down, how should I fix this?
When I press down on a fret near the top of the guitar, the string will vibrate against the fret below it. There is actually not enough room for a piece of paper to fit under the fret it vibrates against.
The guitar is straight, not warped or damaged.
Your guitar needs a set-up. Don't try to do any repairs yourself, unless you know what you're doing. Take it to a repair center and tell them you need a set-up. They'll do it for you, but you'll be without a guitar for about a week. Can't give you an exact cost, since it varies by store but be prepared to pay for labor costs. To give you an idea, at the place I go to, a set-up is about $50 after labor fees.
